Public Lifts from Frogmore Street and Upper Maudlin Street

Bristol is very hilly, which is great foe coming down, but difficult when going up; especially for those whose mobility is impaired, such as older people, those with a disability and those with pushchairs.

Two places where it is difficult, are (1) Frogmore Street to Park Row and (2) Upper Maudlin Street to Kingsdown.

With (1) there is a lift car park whcih could be refined to allow safe public access, or a lift could be built alongside the structure, to allow easy access to Frogmore Street and Park Row. In (2) a lift could be bulit, using the BRI as a support, to allow access from Upper Maudlin Street to Kingsdown.

Why the contribution is important

Often people do not mind walking, but find hills difficult.

Many other cities have lifts as part of there public transport network, where besides being useful, become a tourist site in there own right.
