Grow fruit & veg in the greenhouses at Blaise Plant Nursery

The greenhouses at the Council owned Blaise Plant Nursery are heated by a biomass boiler (using waste wood from the City's street trees, parks and heritage estates) - at the moment only flowers are grown in them - fruit & vegetables should also be grown there to be distributed to local schools, community groups, the elderly and other local residents.
Why the contribution is important
We are encouraged to eat more fruit & vegetables but often these are flown in from hundreds of miles away (especially during winter). Using the greenhouses at Blaise (heated by a low carbon biomass boiler) would drastically reduce air miles, encourage local people to eat more healthily and also provide further weight to Bristol's claims to being a Green Capital.
I personally would love to tuck into some tomatoes labelled "Produce of Blaise,Bristol"!
